Windows DVD maker Help?

I am making a DVD for my Dad's birthday, and I used windows live movie maker (the latest version) to make the movie, and when I saved it, it saved as a WMV file.

What I am wondering is, does WINDOWS DVD MAKER automatically turn all formats into a playable DVD format, because it says absolutely nothing of acceptable file types. It just says to upload the files and use them on your DVD player...

So when I put the DVD in a Standard DVD player, will it play?

Yes it does...just make sure you burn it onto a DVD disk.

And I have made a DVD with windows live movie maker and DVD maker and it plays just fine in our DVD player. It does not work in blue ray players though.
