I want to learn how to use a sword?

I don't really care if the style is european, chinese, japanese or whatever... HOWEVER, there are no schools near me, so is there an other to learn? (I don't think so?)

Update:

@Kirill Then why couldn't I just buy a book?

@John What do you mean "training samurai" ?

    Use the shinkendo website to do another search. Often times these people teaching kenjutsu don't advertise themselves, and use personal connections instead to attract students.

    If there really are no schools near you, then you'll have to look at things like Kali or Philippino Arnis.

    Search for fencing or the SCA in your area. It`s around you, they just don`t advertize in the yellow pages. Your local university probably has both.

    you need an instructor to learn any martial art, so unless you find one your out of luck

    books, videos, internet are all meant for reference only and not meant to be the sole source of learning. you dont study and become a doctor just from books they spend years going to collage for this martial arts is no different,

    I learned from some old knight manuals and pressure testing against trained people.

    Now that I have been doing it for about 8 years I can hold my own against most people even ones who have been formally trained.

    but again I pressure tested against competent people.

    try looking up george silver for old english style or fiore dei liberte for old italian style or hanz talhoffer for old german style.

    actually you don't have to spend a penny because there are dozzens of pdfs online.

    well, i learned my self, you have to practise on a tree or something ( NOT HUMAN OR ANY LIVING THING BESIDES A TREE THATS NOT THAT IMPORTANT) you have to be care full and imagine what would be the best thing to do. the other good way is to have a buddy to fight with and use wood swords.
