Naruto (idk really why but I Fairy Tail has a Naruto kind of feel to it ya know)

One Piece (Mashima hasn't admitted it yet but it influenced Fairy Tail)

Try soul eater. The characters are VERY similar, the big difference would be that the fights are more weapon oriented than magic, but that's because the characters are weapons or miesters. The setting seems similar, the plot is more or less similar...they're just very similar

And then there's Naruto which is also very similar. Pretty much same as above except the fighting is pretty much the same ninjaish magic as in Fairy Tail

One Piece -- Fairy Tail is like the offspring of One Piece. You could even argue that it is almost a copy of One Piece. The characters are similar, theme (friendship), and art style too. The difference is that one is in a pirate era with devil fruit powers, and the other is in a magic world with magic powers.

    Luffy - Natsu

    Nami - Lucy

    Zoro - Erza

    Sanji - Gray

    Chopper - Happy
