What is a good basic recipe for chicken drumsticks?

    Deviled Drumsticks

    Scalloped potatoes, steamed broccoli, and sliced tomatoes with blue cheese dressing go well with these drumsticks. We like lemon meringue pie for dessert.

    Ingredients

    Nonstick vegetable oil spray

    1/4 cup mayonnaise

    1/4 cup coarse-grained mustard

    2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

    3/4 cup dry Italian-style breadcrumbs

    2 tablespoons finely chopped green onion tops

    4 large chicken drumsticks (about 1 pound)

    Preparation

    Preheat oven to 425°F. Spray small baking sheet with vegetable oil spray. Whisk mayonnaise, mustard and Worcestershire sauce in medium bowl to blend. Whisk breadcrumbs and green onions in another medium bowl to blend. Dip 1 chicken drumstick in mayonnaise mixture; turn to coat. Place drumstick in crumb mixture; turn to coat. Transfer to prepared baking sheet. Repeat with remaining drumsticks. Bake chicken until cooked through, about 25 minutes.

    Oven Roasted Chicken Drumsticks

    Ingredients

    6 chicken drumsticks

    1 tbsp onion powder

    1 tbsp garlic powder

    1 tbsp paprika

    1 tsp salt

    1 tsp pepper

    1 cup chicken brother-fat free

    2 tablespoons white cooking wine

    cooking spray

    Directions

    preheat oven to 375.

    Take a glass pyrex pan and spray with cooking spray. Pour chicken broth and wine in dish.

    In a small bowl combine garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt and pepper. Sprinkle generously over chicken drumsticks being sure to get both sides.

    Place chicken in dish and baste occasionally, baking for 30 minutes. At which time you turn the chicken and cook for an additional 15(or until internal temp is 180).

    Serve with brown rice and some fresh vegetables.

    Marinate in vinegar and oils style salad dressing for at least 1 hour then put on the grill over hot coals brown all sides and remove from hot side of grill to indirectly cook until chicken is at an Internal temp of 165 degree.

    CHICKEN DRUMSTICKS

    125mls (1/2 cup) light soy sauce

    80mls (1/3 cup) honey

    1 lemon, juiced

    1 garlic clove, crushed

    12 chicken drumsticks

    Method

    Preheat oven to 180°C.

    Combine soy sauce, honey, lemon juice and garlic in a bowl and mix well. Place the chicken drumsticks in an ovenproof dish in a single layer and pour the marinade over the top.

    Cover the dish with foil and cook drumsticks in preheated oven for 45 minutes or until the juices run clear when the drumsticks are pierced in the thickest part. Turn the drumsticks and baste them with the marinade every 15 minutes. Remove from oven, drain off marinade and cool to room temperature.

    Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. If you want to reheat the drumsticks, preheat the oven to 140ºC. Place the drumsticks in an ovenproof dish and reheat them for 10 minutes or until heated through.

    OVEN - BAKED DRUMSTICKS

    1/2 c. all-purpose flour

    1 tsp. salt (optional)

    1/4 tsp. garlic powder

    1/2 tsp. paprika

    1/4 tsp. pepper

    6 chicken drumsticks

    1/4 c. butter, melted

    Heat oven to 425°F.

    Mix flour, salt, garlic powder, paprika, and pepper in a bowl. Dip chicken drumsticks into butter; roll in flour mixture to coat. Arrange in an ungreased or foil-lined square pan, 8 x 8 x 2 inches.

    Bake, uncovered, until done, about 50 minutes.

    PICNIC DRUMSTICKS

    1/2 cup butter, melted

    1-1/2 cups crushed saltine crackers

    3 Tbsp. dry vegetable soup mix

    8 chicken drumsticks, skin removed

    Preparation:

    Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Stir together crackers and onion soup mix. Dip chicken legs into melted butter then coat with cracker mixture, pressing gently to coat. Place remaining butter in 13x9" baking pan, then top with coated chicken legs. Sprinkle with any remaining crumb mixture to coat.

    Bake for 35-45 minutes or until chicken is tender and thoroughly cooked. You can serve these with sour cream and salsa for dipping if desired.
