Should we have the Olympics any more; are they too corrupt, too political?

When you allege the Olympics are too political, do you suggest the International Olympic Committee should not have banned South Africa and Rhodesia from the Olympics for their apartheid racial discrimination?
As for corruption, the IOC has acted very badly and greedily from time to time. But what organization hasn't? I honestly cannot think of one major organization that hasn't, from time to time, doled out unearned benefits, shaken others down, or helped themselves when no one was looking.
Should the IOC operate more ethically and openly? Of course. Should it be banned? That's for the public to decide through its interest or indifference. After all, we still have flat-Earth societies.
