As a sample of different fields, my university offers:

    mechanical engineering

    material science

    chemical and bio-molecular engineering

    biological engineering

    digital media design

    computer science

    computer engineering

    electrical engineering

    systems engineering

    computer engineering

other majors not offered at my university but are common elsewhere include:

    civil engineering

    environmental engineering

    aerospace engineering

    industrial engineering

Robotics involves mostly mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and computer science. Any of these fields is a good place to start; however almost any field can have an application in robotics. Graduate programs in robotics specifically also exist. If you want to learn more skills in robotics, the boe-bot kit (http://www.parallax.com/go/boebot) used in high schools and intro college courses or the arduino microcontrollers (www.arduino.cc) are good places to start!
