And Why?

Their is nothing wrong with a non-Jew calling themselves a priest. The term "kohen" (priest) is used in the Torah to refer to priests of other religions. One example is Yitro, the father-in-law od Moshe who is referred to as "Kohen Midyan"- "The priest of Midian".

A Christian calling themselves Rabbi is HIGHLY offensive. Rabbis is, and only ever has been, a Jewish title. A Christian appropriating it is also usually claiming to be a "messianic jew", or i other words that one can be Jewish and Christian at the same time. Since these "Rabbis" in "messianic judaism" are engaged in blatant lies and deceit, all in the name of tryign to convert uneducated Jews to Christianity, their usage o the title of Rabbi as part of the religious bait and switch scam is highly offensive

A xtian calling himself a Rabbi because you would assume he is a Rabbi with Jewish theology. If I say I am a minister and then start talking about how jesus is irrelevant and believing in him goes against the Torah and worshiping him is polytheism, then I would think it would insult xtians.

Same thing...a Rabbi who spouts xtian theology is a snake. He should call himself what he is.

Other religions have priests (hindu's for sure) and I am not bothered by that but a minister who says he is a Rabbi is deceitful, to say the least

A Christian calling himself a rabbi. He would have to have been to Jewish seminary to become an ordained rabbi, so...he would have to be Jewish. And one must have papers to be called Rabbi. It's like calling someone King, without their being one.

    Rabbi simply means -TEACHER.

While a self-appointed "priest" is saying he is a mediator between God and his parishners -which seems quite self-exalting, since the Bible (including the Catholic one) states "There is only ONE mediator, the man Christ Jesus"!.

I know of MANY Christian pastors whe do not allow themselves to be referred to as "Reverand" because we are to "reverence" only God Himself.

Usurping God's authority is not only "disrespectful" to God but putting ourselves in grave danger.

No sensible Christian would call himself by either of those terms...

    They belong to Judaism...

The New Testament does not teach either as part of the Christian

    church leadership...

only Pastors, Bishops, Deacons, Teachers & Evangelists

Sorry, not an Israelite: both are against the teachings of Jesus Christ.

'call no man rabbi' 'and call no man 'Father''....both go against what

    Jesus taught.

Christians are to be a family of brethren (ie. women and men).
