Les Miserables school drama?

would les miserables be good for my school drama class? We are a low low budget drama school, we barely have a good set of lights and props. But would it be good?

Last year we pulled off Sweeney Todd fine.

Our class consists of 4 woman, and about 11 men (not all want to act)

    no

Les miserables has a huge cast and demands a high budget for the setting and musical rights, in order to be done right. Plus with the movie just coming out, it would be overly done about this time.

A better choices would be "Next to Normal", "Good Man Charlie Brown", "RENT", "25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee"

Well you already have a good cast template considering there are many more men in the play than woman. Les Mis is a really simplistic play and there are many ways of going about it that could fit your low budget! You could use a lot more creative ways of displaying such events like Javert's suicide. Maybe watch how other people did it, and see if it will fit in your budget!
