do democratic governments always enjoy the support of their citizens?

please explain why or why not

    I think the people support having a democracy, but that doesn't mean the people always like what their government does.

    Certainly that applies in the US. While Obama is popular, Congress's approval rating is very low because they aren't doing anything. The GOP is stonewalling anything that would help the economy and create jobs because they want to blame the dems and win elections. Didn't work so good for them this last election, so it will be interesting to see if they still screw us over.

    And Bush had something like a 20% approval rating when he left office.

    As to why, obviously it's because they aren't doing what the people elected them to do or are not handling problems like the people think they should.
