Laptop locked by police?

Okay, so I already asked this question, but I figured that not many people will see it. My laptop has been locked buy the rcmp ransomware virus, and I was just wondering what would happen if the 72 pass? My safe mode and safe mode with networking doesn't work, seeing as it kicked me out. I don't know how to start registry editor with command prompt, so I had no idea. Should I just it to a computer technician or to bestbuy to fix it? I also had this thought, that if I took apart my laptop, would the virus still be there? I'm not a computer techie so don't blame me. I'm just thinking about recycling my laptop now, as a last resort.

Update:

By 72 I meant 72 hours. I tried looking on google, but there wasn't any answers.

first of all this is a fairly easy fix. now, if you have access to a flash drive and another computer, get hitman pro, it has a free trial. now whipe the flash and when you open it on the other computer look for a little button with a stick guy doing a jump kick or something. follow the prompts to get it on your flash and then plug the flash into the infected computer. when starting the computer open up the boot menu (quickly, i know this is possible) and boot the flash. the problem should be fixed. once you can access your computer again get malwarebytes to remove all remaining malware. this method works so just trust me, remember open hitman pro on the other computer and click the little stick guy doing a jump kick. this software is meant for this problem.

best of luck with your virus removal

Look up instructions for doing a Factory Restore using a key combination before Windows Starts.

Use the key or key combo when you see the Manufacturers Logo.

Or start it from the F8 Advanced Startup Menu for newer Dell laptops.

There is a key to press after restarting the laptop that will start Factory Restore.

Press it before Windows starts, when you see the Manufacturer Logo (for most brands)

This is not a complete list and earlier models of some brands have a different method or hotkey for D2D Factory Restore. You may have to open BIOS (Acer) to enable D2D Recovery first.
