i have a question about scales?

So to get from 1:100 to 1:200, do you just divide the numbers on the 1:100 scale by 2?

I don't have a rule that has 1:200

Thanks in advance

if the scales of the a map is 1:100,then 1cm in the map stand for 1*100cm in the real world, and 1cm in the real word will be only 1/100 cm in the map.

to if the scales change to common 1:a, then 1 unit length in map stand for 1*a unit length in the real world, and 1unit length in the real world will be only 1/a unit length in the map.

my english not very well, hope this will be help you.
