There were 3 types of transportation:
1. Ocean transportation especially around areas such as Hudson Bay when it was not iced over. Ocean transportation was used on the East coast of Canada, the West coast of Canada and the northernmost areas
2. Dog sleds could be used to carry personal cargo such as food, clothing, traps, and so on. However they were not practical for large shipments.
3. Horse and wagon if there were trails not blocked by trees.
