Can a Death Note affect Haruhi Suzumyia?
If she didn't know someone had written her name vs her knowing her name was written in it?

I asked a question like this once...and got chewed out by a couple of responders for "mixing incompatible universes."
It just shows that some people like to live inside their comfy little boxes & don't appreciate having their little imaginations challenged.
But I love the challenge.
Death Note makes the bold statement that while there is a shinigami realm, there is no heaven or hell. When you die, you simply die. Basically an atheist view of the universe.
Haruhi, on the other hand, is God, but doesn't know it. How an omnipotent and omniscient being can get amnesia is something the author hasn't addressed, yet.
It would be tempting to say that God simply could not be affected by anything in creation. But what do we mere mortals know about gods? No more than a bacteria would understand about human civilization. Certainly, if God willed it, S/He could be born on Earth as a Japanese girl and become just as vulnerable to its dangers, both natural and supernatural. We did see in the movie that her life was profoundly altered by Yuki, supposedly just another of her own creations. So it is possible.
If a Death Note was used on Haruhi, and it worked, then it would quite literally be the end of everything, since it is her subconscious that is holding up all of reality.
On the other hand, if it didn't work, that would open up an interesting can of worms. The first question would have to be WHY didn't it work? Which would lead to all sorts of speculations that could not be proven or disproven without a lot more data than we have now.

very tough question...
Haruhi Suzumiya is basically a god (or so, she is referred to as such in the Light Novels), as such anything she wishes for somehow happens.
Haruhi likely wants to stay alive, because she enjoys life (at least, after she met Kyon and started the SOS Brigade). so, then wouldn't her god powers keep her alive because thats what she wished for?

It probably wouldn't work either way. Even if Haruhi technically 'died', she would just recreate the Universe again with her in it, so no one would notice the difference.

Hmm, I guess it depends. Maybe if she knew of the Death Note's powers AND knew someone would write her name in it, then possibly she wouldn't be affected. But it's all fan theory LOL.
