What small business idea can I do?
I like to start up a plan towards a small business for extra income. I'm not interested in home products like Avon, or door to door sales. I was thinking about a dog & cat salon to run and have experience technicians to help pay the lease. Is this a good business idea or should I choose something else.

You are the only one that can figure that out as everyone’s situation is different. Find an unmet need that is also something that you like to do. Complete a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis http://www.businessballs.com/swotanalysisfreetempl... and write a business plan to prove that the business idea is workable. Go to http://sba.gov/smallbusinessplanner/plan/writeabus... http://www.bplans.com/ or http://www.score.org/template_gallery.html for instructions on how to write a business plan and sample business plans.

I like your thinking - you will invest in the business, hire the right people to do it, and earn a decent income. Very good. The only question I guess you'd have to answer is not if it's good or bad - I'm assuming you've looked at numbers, evaluated potential clients, see your competition's prices, etc....but ask yourself if you want to be in that business long term. I can tell you this - the vets hate my cat - he's mean and has big claws - they have to wear the hawk gloves and pin that sucker down just for his rabies vaccine! It's a big laugh for me! haha! Hope it helps.

I needed some extra income to pay off a student loan and like you, I did not want to do direct selling. To my surprise I was able to payoff my debt in less than one year with a home-based business. I absolutely love it and now it is my only income source. Good luck!
