Do these companies genuinely want to take a stand, or are they using the support/non-support as a business tactic?
I'm actually under the opinion that it depends on the company, but I'd like to see what everyone else thinks.
Do you think Religious beliefs are somehow tied into this? Why?

Probably a mixed bag. I'm sure a few of those companies have a genuine interest in gay rights, but even the ones that don't can see the writing on the wall, so to speak.
If this were 1967, they might be supporting mixed race marriages for the same reason...market research.

I think most of these companies didn't come out for support or opposed same sex marriage based on a business tactic. I think it's just how the companies truly feel.
I know for Chick fil A's case religion did tie into it. As the owner is a Christian and expressed his belief on why gay marriage is wrong.

All the "for" companies are "getting on the gay bandwagon" to get as much financial support from the misled masses before society comes tumbling down from the removal of God's grace.

interesting however, what do those companies do? how do they help gay rights? fairly, none of them are outspoken approximately it with the aid of fact they are companies...they go with all of us's money.
