Do Q-ray magnetic bracelets ever have to be replaced? Do they lose their effectiveness over time?

They don't really have any effectiveness beyond placebo effect against real diseases. Controlled trials are unable to demonstrate any effect of static magnets. See for instance this study: http://jama.ama-assn.org/content/290/11/1474.full....
And here is a summary of a more recent study: http://www.archives-pmr.org/article/S0003-9993%281...
So if you think they look cool, there is no reason to replace them.

No - it's impossible to lose something that wasn't there to start with.

They have zero effect on anything, except to make the arm you wear them on slightly heavier. Asking if they lose effectiveness is like asking if your imaginary pony will die if you don't give it food and water.
