Should I build my own gaming desktop, buy a gaming desktop, or get the PS4?

If want to build a high end budget desktop ($250-$300) that will still run most games (I don't care if it runs Crisis 3 flawlessly or anything). If I going to build a computer can you recommend the:

Am I missing anything? If so can you state what part I missed and I will be glad you pointed it out. Now I am thinking should I just get a PS4 or buy a gaming computer? The thing is, consoles become outdated pretty quickly and it takes the developers forever to pop out a new one (360 is 8 years old and the PS3 is 7 years old). Or I was thinking of just buying a gaming desktop, but the ones I found in my price range didn't even come with a hard drive.

I'll say this now, you're not going to get a desktop gaming system for $300, it's just too little cash even if you built the system yourself. Realistically you'll be looking at more like $500 for a solid entry-level gaming computer so if that's unattainable then just wait for the PS4. Buying a prebuilt gaming system be prepared to pay about twice as much for anything worth purchasing so that is more or less out of the question.

There is this website though which is extremely useful to not only plan builds and get the best current prices on hardware but there's also a great community that can look over your plans and give you advice on what to go for. So if you're still interested in assembling your own machine do check that site out.

You will NOT get a high end budget desktop for gaming for that price range. You'll be lucky if you find an old one that even turns on at the price.

The PS4 is decent from what I see and it's easy to use--no need to upgrade as time goes by (although PC is superior in technology and performance). If you only have the budget, you should probably go with the console.

If you can expand your budget to like $700-$800, you can get a great gaming budget PC. That is, if you build it. Buying a PC (even from a gaming PC builder website) is more expensive--most of the time.

    Good luck! And happy gaming.

While it will be impossible to find a good desktop at that price, new, you might can find one to buy second hand? The ps4 does looks awesome, and might be your better option at this point depending on what you want to get out of your console. PC versions of games are so much more fun and have the option for mods :) Although PS4 is bound to offer awesome games that are PS4 exclusive.

    PSU- Corsair 450W-$55 to $58

Cabinet-cooler master elite (any one coming under $45-$50)

HDD- WD Caviar blu 500 GB-$45 to $50

Monitor- Anyone coming in your budget but not having more than 21 inch for that GPU.

    Speakers- Altec Lansing

Good luck with that. I built a super desktop that will do

all the games. I set a budget of 1200 and when I finished.

I had 1664 in the desktop. However I had much rather

have a desktop for gaming. I don't even do games, but

I sure have one lightning fast computer.

ps4 is $399. PS4 has excellent specs for its price range it is worth it but you gonna have to have a psPlus to game online. Get a PS4 if you can pay for it+online for multiplayer every month just like xbox.

    PC specs:

    CPU $119.99:

    MB $44..99:

    RAM $69.99:

    Computer case $24.99:

    PSU $49.99:

You can use your old cd drive/ hard drive. That's the best price for your price range and not a bad computer either.
