Do I have to produce a Doctor's note for taking 1 day off sick when I work hourly (no work, no pay)?
I had to call in sick at work and I was informed that I had to produce a Doctor's note to prove that I was sick. My question is, why should I have to do this when I only get paid by the hour, you know, no work means no pay.

If your employer requires it, yes if you want to keep your job.
You can't just take off whenever you want to, even if you don't get paid. Don't you think it's an inconvenience to your employer to be expecting you at work, then you don't come in?
