1 John 4:15 says we if we confess Jesus is the son of God, God dwells in us?

The Holy Spirit dwells in believers and we are the temple of the Holy Spirit. Thus the Holy Spirit is indeed God. So why do some say the Holy Spirit is a force?

The Bible states that all of the Trinity lives in us. More specific by the Holy Spirit as the Spokesman that Jesus promised His disciples. To have eternal security the life we live must reflect what is in us. If we are truly born again, a new creation, our lives will be lived in humble and meek love, as our Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.

4:15 Whoever confesses. See note on v. 2. This refers to the doctrinal test (cf. vv. 1–6; 1:1–4; 2:23).

4:2 By this you know the Spirit of God. John gives a measuring stick to determine whether the propagator of the message is a demon spirit or the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. This is the first test of a true teacher: they acknowledge and proclaim that Jesus is God incarnate in human flesh.

The Gr. construction does not mean that they confess Christ as having come to earth, but that they confess that He came in the flesh to the earth, i.e., His human body was physically real. Both the full humanity and full deity of Jesus must be equally maintained by the teacher who is to be considered genuinely of the Spirit. The Holy Spirit testifies to the true nature of the Son, while Satan and his forces distort and deny that true nature. John accentuates the crucial importance of sound doctrine expressed in God’s Word as the only absolute and trustworthy standard (cf. Is 8:20).

Don't know, but I certainly believe wholeheartedly in the Trinity.

God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit are all one.

Well because they have had a poor instructor who themselves don't understand what they read from Scripture.

Jesus refers to the Holy Spirit as the Advocate, He is not using the word as a verb but as a noun. Any idiot can look up the word Advocate in a Dictionary an find out it's in reference to a person.

Probably because they do not know God at all.
