Are heat pumps used for air conditioning ?
I know it's kinda lazy. but I think some people think you can't use gas to cool a home...

"gas" as in natural gas (Methane) is burned to produce steam
which facilitates cooling in absorption cycle refrigeration
(Lithium Bromide, Ammonia).
"gas" as in refrigerant vapor (HCFC, HFC, usually R-410a), can be used by a heat pump
to transfer heat from indoors to outdoors (cooling), or outdoors
to indoors (heating).

Air conditioning has a broad sense, which means putting the indoor environment to the level of human comfort. A heat pumps is used for air conditioning, at cold climate conditions.
