A spring with a spring constant k=440.0 N/m is attached to a mass of m=7 kg and stretched -0.5 m from its equilibrium position and released.

What is the speed of the block when it is at the equilibrium position?

    This is a simple conservation of mechanical energy problem

    K_f + U_sf = K_i + U_si

    1/2 mv^2 + 0 = 0 + 1/2 kx^2

    v = root(k/m)*x = 3.96 m/s
