Line cook: Tips for memorizing menu quickly at a new job?

Starting in a new kitchen and I want some tips for memorizing the recipes quick. My last job I had a lot of trouble memorizing and mixing up dishes.

One memory trick is to create visuals that cannot be forgotten, so they need to be connected to the real thing but put into such a unique visual that you won't forget them.

Try not picturing an elephant. Try not picturing dancing shrimp, dancing because of the spice or the grilling they're experiencing. Word association to unique pictures work too.
