If we have electric cars today?

Do you think electric ships and electric planes can also be a possibility in the near future if we develop batteries that can store huge amounts of power?

Today you will find electric cars, electric ships (submarines and surface powered solar vehicles. And you will also find electric airplanes.

Electric submarines were used during WWII. They were actually diesel/electric hybrids. On the surface they used diesel engines but when submersed they were battery electric vehicles. Some of the nuclear powered submarines were actually also hybrids using a nuclear reactor to produce electricity which would then power the boat. http://www.curbsideclassic.com/automotive-historie... Some cruise ships are diesel/electric hybrids.

Some of the electric planes today are solar powered like the solar impulse (10 years old: http://www.solarimpulse.com/ ) While others are battery powered only and are plugged in to recharge the batteries: http://green.autoblog.com/2013/07/25/yates-record-...

Electric cars are a transitional tech. They are temp until hydrogen engines mature enough to be commercially viable and a cheap, reliable source of hydrogen can be found (extraction from water is expensive)

We could all be flying to Mars if we developed fairy dust too.
