I am going to make some potato salad. It is better to cook the potatoes with ot without the lid on the pot?

    I always keep the lid on, but you can do it either way.

    Having the lid on the pot just makes the potatoes cook faster.

    Putting a lid on the top keeps the heat in the pot, and heats the water up quicker than without it.

    I always cook the potatoes with their peels on for potato salad.

    It doesn't matter. When I boil potatoes, I leave the pot covered until the liquid comes to a boil. Then I remove it because, for some odd reason, the pot always boils over onto the stove.

    Best to cook it on,makes potatoes cook faster
