Rowe Graeme, no matter what you say, is ALMOST ELEVEN. He's been ALMOST ELEVEN for months, now, because he can't wait to be the age his mother has promised he'll be allowed to sit in the front seat of the family mini-van. He has light, sandy brown hair, big brown eyes, and freckles across the bridge of his nose. He has a pair of glasses, thin rectangles with orange-brown wire frames, but he refuses to wear them on the basis that they look really dorky. He gets mostly A's and B's in school, but has a real aversion to long division and got a C in Math last quarter because of it. His father wasn't happy.
Lachlan Arthur, Lach or Lachy for short- His mother calls him buddy, which he likes when they're alone but hates out in public, is nine years old. He has short, dark blonde hair which his parents let him spike with gel for special occasions. He has wide green eyes and freckles like his older brother. Lach couldn't care less about school, but he's pretty smart and aces many quizes without ever sitting down to study. He's a total daredevil. His favorite class is recess, where he and his best friend, Aaron, spend each day seeing who can jump furthest from an arc on the swings. This has resulted in one broken arm, an irreplacibly chipped tooth, and several skinned hands and knees to date, but it hasn't stopped him yet. He loves the look of the chipped tooth and spent two weeks requesting that his friends, teacher, siblings, and parents call him "Fang" before realizing it wasn't catching on and letting the matter drop.
Esme Blythe and Ansel Ledger are twins.
They are seven years old. Esme wears her dark blonde hair in pigtails, has green eyes, and freckles. She loves caring for her little siblings and learning to play the cello. She swims, like Ansel, and absoloutely adores being in the water. She's hoping to join swim team when she gets a little older, and in the meantime enjoys nearly year-round lessons. However, she dislikes rotary breathing, and would much rather surface for a gulp of fresh air before diving back down again.
Ansel has light sandy brown hair like Rowe's, freckles, and brown eyes. He has rectabgular, black-framed glasses on a strap around the back of his head. He loves sports, especially soccer, which he plays in the fall and spring. He also plays basketball and swims during the winter and is looking forward to trying lacrosse in the summer through a camp. He's missing both front teeth, and his smile is absoloutely adorable. His motto is, "If Lach can do it, so can I," and he subsequently spends much of his time following his older brother around, picking up hints about how to jump farther, climb higher, and make more trouble!
Maida Cordelia is five years old. She wears her hair in thin brown braids, and has huge brown eyes, freckles, and the cutest smile. She wants to be a vet when she grows up, and her favorite toy in the world is a small stuffed grey cat, called Tinkerbell. Tink looks more than a little bedraggled by this point. Maida's favorite thing to do is play with the Vet Set she got for Christmas from Grandad and Granny, as it includes some real doctor things Grandad used when he worked as a pediatrician (ped-a-trish-shin) such as gauze bandages, a fore-head thermometer, tongue depressors, cotton balls, a couple empty medicine containsers, and a REAL STETHOSCOPE. Maida loves afternoon kindergarten, where she draws pictures with crayons and colored pencils of herself as a vet, often treating Tink on a vet table. Her teacher's name is Mrs. Anderson, and Maida often stops on her way to school, sets her pink back-pack down on the sidewalk, and selects a variety of flowers for her teacher.
Stanley Iowan is two and a half years old, and a sweeter little boy you couldn't find anywhere. He has dark blonde hair, freckles, and brown eyes. He desperately wants a puppy dog for Christmas, and writes Santa once a week with a crayoned picture of a puppy, titled with the word DOG and signed with a large letter "S". The letter G was backwards for some time until his big brother Ansel helped him fix it. Stanley has a hard time pronouncing the letters "R" and "L", so to him, his big siblings are "Wowe, Wach, Emay, Ansew, an Maida". He toddles around after them constantly, calling their names in desperate hope that they'll pause in their daily activities and spend some time with him. "Wowe, Wachy, Pay wit me! I pay too, Emay?" He loves Dr. Sues and Clifford the Big Red Dog books, and his favortie person to read to him, after Mommy, is Ansel.
