Americans - Would you rather something be good or free?

Lois -

If you were offered a coat that was 3 sizes too small for you and smelled like gasoline...but it was free, would you wear it?

Update 2:

Bryson -

It is a free Dell Pentium II laptop with 256 MB RAM.

I would rather it be good. I'm the type that when I need something done I don't go with the cheapest person, I find out who is the best and I go with them.

Nothing is for "free". Someone is paying for it and that is my problem with free. I would like to think that things are given away free for the generosity of the gift, but I think not, in this world free always has a catch.

I believe you should pay for what you need. I guess it is a sense of my own ethics. It is obvious that in today's me society, free is for me, but like I said, not for me.

Depends on what you're talking about but in most cases free. What have you got to lose if it's free?
