Writing a paper on capitalism in America, looking for Example-Will give best answer!?
In my paper, I'm talking about how a board of directors can pressure an executive into being much more shareholder and short term driven than customer and employee satisfaction driven. I am looking for a well known company to use as an example as to where an exec stood up against the board and was relieved/fired/walked out on the company.
P.S. Please don't use Steve Jobs in 85 for reasons I don't feel like explaining.
Thanks, will give best answer!
Will also accept vice versa examples! ie. exec stock driven, BoD not

Here's a good article from Forbes on several CEOs who've been fired by their boards, and the reasons why: http://www.forbes.com/sites/karstenstrauss/2013/03...
Here's an article from Fortune about something kind of close to home: Carol Bartz being fired as CEO of Yahoo: http://postcards.blogs.fortune.cnn.com/2011/09/08/...
One of the most famous firings was of Lee Iacocca from Ford. He ended up at Chrysler and saved that company. You can begin here: http://www.leeiacocca.com/my-life/index.aspx
Hope that helps.
