McConnell had initially “kept the plant’s doors open” to guarantee jobs for his constitutes, even as “the plant’s toxins had spread through the air and into the ground, slowly killing its own workers and tainting the surrounding area.” Though McConnell had toured the facility, “knew about the contaminated water supply and the mountain of leaking storage containers,” and had been in regular consultation with the Department of Energy about the crisis, he ultimately voted against an amendment that would have held nuclear subcontractors liable for negligence or misconduct at nuclear plants — and didn’t take legislative action to help the plant’s sick workers until 1999.

Absolutely NOT! Mitch McConnell has repeatedly stated that the Afordable Care Act, (Obama Care) is among the worst laws ever passed by Congress and that it should be repealed immediately. He has never offered any alternatitive. The ad he is currently running is in response to a Tea Party challenger in the upcoming primary. Also, this ad is not new. He used it six years ago to defeat his democratic opponent and win re-election to the U.S. Senate. Thing is, it took a decade of dangerous working conditions, the inclusion of the now closed nuclear site on the EPA superfund cleanup list, dozens of workers suffering and dying from all kinds of radiation poisoning illnesses before Mitch did anything. Only when the courts were on the verge of handing down a verdict that would have resulted in millions having to be paid out did he finally get involved. Each person affected or their families were given $150,000.00. Far less than the actual cost of the medical care they needed. Only after a decade of inaction, and only when it suited his politcal needs and help his re-election to the Senate, did Mitch finally support a limited form of government provided health care.

That is just not the Republican agenda, if it is not making them money it's out.
