Agree/disagree: you should never be forced to?

Read a novel/book you don't want. It's something that affects our knowledge and everyone should have the right to decide what they want to know or not. This teacher in our English class is forcing us to read an extremely boring book and it's local. We have to give a test on it! There will be questions like "what are the names of ALL the teachers in the story and their description" like seriously I just want to kill myself.

Disagree. And if you think you're forced to read a bunch of boring crap in high school, just wait until you get to college.

Ha....welcome to the world of higher learning.

You're going to be "forced" to read a lot more boring stuff, so you might as well apply yourself now

if you plan on continuing your education.

Also, this is an exercise in focusing, paying attention to detail and strengthening comprehension,

not just about being "forced" to read something you don't want to.

There will be HUNDREDS of more times in your life when you'll be called upon to do things you don't want to. Good luck! ;)

Disagree. You'll still be reading junk you don't wanna read once you get to college and depending on what career you want, even more useless junk so you may as well get used to it.

  • It's to show you have good reading and literacy skills, and reading books and having tests on them is something you're going to have to get used to if you're going to university or college.

This is all for the sake of comprehension and execution. Nothing as you wrongly feel is there
