First time at a job, I think I am going to be in big trouble?

It was my first time being cashier. I was told to keep any receipts that was not Debit(interac) such as mastercard, visa, etc. in the cash register. I think I have thrown out more than two or something. My co-worker said my boss would give me trouble if I threw out any. What should I do?

    It is better you inform the boss and tell him it is a mistake and ensure that it will not happen again.
