When God told Adam to name all the animals did that include the insects?
Or where there no insects until after Adam and Eve sinned? And if there were no insects what did the insect-eating animals eat?

Insects were nice before Eve ate the fruit. Then insects started eating fruits too.

There's no way of knowing that. Anything we say will be merely speculation on our parts. I would say that God just told Adam to name the animals that he could see. Adam could not see amoeba.
Maybe God showed Adam everything and Adam knew of every animal, bacteria, protist, insect, bird, or whatever else exists on this planet that ever was and it all got lost through the generations.
Or God told Adam to name the animals that lived in the ecosystem that was the Garden of Eden. That's where they lived and nothing could harm them there. God made an entire universe and put us on one planet designed to fit our needs. It makes sense that in the same way God could make an entire planet with tons of different creatures and in it a garden designed to fit our specific needs, excluding us from the rest of the world.Source(s): But there's no way to know for sure.

From the Bible account at Genesis 2:18-20 it says that God brought the animals to Adam to name, and the ones mentioned are Domestic Animals, Wild Beasts and Flying Creatures.
Insects are not mentioned.
BTW: Genesis 1:29-30 shows that ALL those animals ate only vegetation. Which of course makes sense, since in a perfect world, there would be no bloodshed and mayhem.

Insects belong to Kingdom Animalia.

To name all those creatures on earth that already exist before Adam is quite common ,but the most astonishing whom GOD ask Adam to mention was the Holy Names of those whom GOD will send to the world to be witness of Adam and all HIS prophets before the last hour comes.

Yes, that would include the insects...animals being any other life form apart from humans...
Animals do not have a spiritual future...
And the Bible is unclear about animals dying.
(Isaiah 65:25) “The wolf and the lamb themselves will feed as one, and the lion will eat straw just like the bull; and as for the serpent, his food will be dust. They will do no harm nor cause any ruin in all my holy mountain,” Jehovah has said.
Death IS harm or ruin...
From this scripture we must accept that in Jehovah's NEW Kingdom, where humans will no longer die, WHY SHOULD ANIMALS?
But will they breed? Will insects breed?
We must be patient for the right answer...Source(s): NWT

What Adam did not know existed perhaps was left to the sons and daughters of Adam to name.

So who taught Adam how to talk? Strange that he would know how to name all the animals, not having seen any before nor did he know anything. Perhaps a comic would have a field day with this.

Ummm according to the bible the animals were all vegetarians until the "original sin" was commited. But leaves me to think: if the dinosaurs were no longer vegetarians after original sin, how did humans survive? I mean could you imagine humans roaming the earth along with carnivourous dinosaurs?
