My USB mouse doesn't works?

Question

My mouse hasn't worked for a few months, as in it doesn't respond to anything, left click, cursor moving, etc. The only time it does work is in system startup repair.

I have a feeling it's a problem with drivers, but there's no way for me to update them due to the mouse not showing up in Device Manager.

Also, it's not just this mouse, this also works with several other mice I own.

I think it has something to do with the USB cable. You can cut it and splice it again to reconnect. The signal maybe cut.

There a simple solution and easy procedure on how to connect that again.
