# CAn you solve this!?!??!?

If the height of a triangle is 1cm and the base is 5cm how many different triangles can you create? WHY? Explain.

An infinite number

Compare triangles ABC and AEC and AFC

The heights are the same = BD = EC = FG

The bases are the same = AC = AC = AC

... and there are an infinite number of triangle in between.

• Infinitely many triangles can be constructed from dimensions of the base of 5 cm and height of 1 cm. Slide the base left or right and keep the same height. There can be infinite numbers of triangles with the same area, height, and base.

• Someone just gave a good answer for this question a few minutes ago (although they had a typo and made the light parallel line 5 cm from the base and not 1 cm).
