How to guard against bedbugs with used furniture? What can I spray with?
There is wood furniture on craig's list I want, but I worry that bedbugs like wood. How do I get this safely?

I don't think that bed bugs can chew into wood. They are found in joints of furniture. Take the furniture apart (if it can be) and let the furniture sit outside for a few days. The only effective method for removing bed bugs is heat. The sprays that are advertised to kill beg bugs are not effective. Bed bugs like fabrics--like carpets, mattresses and bed clothing.

Dont take the chance.
The only way you can be sure to avoid bedbugs on furniture is if its steel and you take it to the carwash and totally douse it with water.
Wood furniture can carry bedbugs as well as their eggs.
When theyre born they are as small as lice and ready to bite and the media has NOT been disclosing this to people.
Here in Calgary the local radio station just took a survey and asked if some good looking furniture was sitting on the curb with a FREE sign on it would you take it?
over 90% of callers said they would. NO ONE is being advised of how huge a problem this is all over north america.
Chicago is spray treating its entire subway system.
In Nova Scotia they just held a public protest today to try and get help for seniors in subsidized housing who are living in bed bug infested apartments.
Calgary actually reported last week that a large apartment building (here) has had an ongoing infestation for TWO YEARS and the tenants are BEGGING for help.

The news doesnt like reporting it. YOu find more on line, than anything else.
So to answer your question...........the eggs are sticky, the bugs hitchhike on everything.
They spread easier than fleas and are harder to kill than cockroaches, so if your really dumb...
go ahead and buy used furniture.
The cities CHARGE to pick up thrown out furniture etc so most people dont have the money after going through all this, to pay to have someone pick it up, so they give it away, sell it, or leave it on the curb.
