# Math calculation! 10 pts?

I've been calculating this many times over but the number I got just doesn't tally with the given.

I scored 36/60 in total for part 1 of my test and 32/75 for part 2.

Part 1 is worth 40% of the total and part 2 is worth 60%.

Can someone help me calculate the overall percentage points?

Update:

Thanks all for the answers! I shall have to ask my tutor about the grading error.

40% = 2/5 and 60% = 3/5, so we need to compute

(36/60)(2/5) + (32/75)(3/5) = 6/25 + 96/375

= 186/375 = 0.496, or 49.6% exactly.

around 50% is your overall

Part 1 - 36/60 = .6 * 40 = 24%

Part 2 - 32/75 = .43 * 60 = 25.8%

Add part 1 and part 2 percentile scores =49.8%
