Ramadan: Why weekly holiday in Islamic Republic of Pakistan is Sunday?

When there is an entire chapter on the importance of Friday, in holy Quran?

I was going down from steps to pray Jumah prayers and children were returning from school. Workers laced with oil and dirt cannot go from work to Jumah prayers!

So why Friday is not a closed holiday in Pakistan?

Because they are not following Islam.

And once you get a righteous Islamic leader, he will inshAllah make Friday as the weekly holiday of the country. So many countries today are corrupt. May Allah عز وجل get rid of all the Zalim Leaders and replace them with whom Pleases Him.

Pakistan is nowhere near an Islamic country and will never be because they all stooped into culture above religion. You can't marry a Pashtun if you a Panjabi and you cannot be friends with Lahoris or someone across the river from another gaum. Damn! The Indians are the same.

Salam Maybe just like in Indonesia the biggest Muslim country we have also holiday on Sunday because most businesses closed on that day although we perform Friday prayer too.We have enough time about 2 hours for it.

It is a shame for large Muslim nations like Indonesia & Pakistan to follow Sunday as weekly holiday. It is selfish to accept 2 hr break for Friday prayers. Because the labor and technicians cannot go to pray except they take bath and change. People should raise a voice!

It's their calendar of Pakistan days, life.

The Prophet Muhammad (S.A.A.W) was on 3th of January (2015), why wouldn't we celebrate it on the start of the year as long as it's close? (the comparison can't even be put in a test), because it's a holiday for us, just like Pakistan weekly holiday is this Sunday...it's something that is too much valued that can't be changed.

The Church Council of Laodicea circa 364 CE ordered that religious observances were to be conducted on Sunday.

But by the time children reach home, it is already Jumaa prayers time. So better to close for the full day.
