There is one true God who transcends all qualities.

The "Ultimate Reality" was revealed to Guru Nanak after he disappeared off the face of earth to meet God and was given the duty to spread righteousness. The other 9 Gurus became enlightened once they became Gurus and they also played a role in spreading the truth.
