Alaskan malamute or husky?

    Malamutes are the draft horses of the dog world. They were bred to pull heavy loads, not in a team, but individually (which is NOT to say they can not pull in a team). They're built for strength. not for speed. A malamute can pull up to 2,000 pounds of weight, as much as an entire 8 dog team of huskies.

    Looks-wise they are much larger and stockier. Personality-wise they are much quieter and less labor intensive.

    Two different breeds. If you doubt that look it up & read each breeds standards. You can find that on the AKC site.
