If America wasn't 26th in education and 37th in access to health care and had won a war in the last 70 years, would Drumpf even?
be a contender???

The things that would improve our standing isn't something that any Republican is interested in doing.
They're looking to make education more difficult, in adding pseudo-sciences like creationism instead of sticking to actual science, which they take every opportunity to downplay or disbelieve. They're still trying to get us to think health care is a privilege we should reserve for the wealthy and not a right as every other first world country sees it.
And they love to get involved in unwinnable wars, by going into countries with weak unpopular government that tumble with great regularity.
It would make no sense to elect any Republican. They'd cut off their nose to spite their face before helping the country, while a Democrat holds the White House. That's about the least patriotic way to think we've ever had.
Trump is a contender because he allows the prejudiced and fearful permission to be hateful because he's rich.
They don't much care that he's much more corrupt and disgraceful than either of the Clintons, even as he throws mud at them. He's rich and he lets them feel correct in their hatefulness.
It's a very sad state we're in when a presidential candidate encourages his followers to punch others out.

No. If there was a better team on the right we wouldn't have these illegal wars and caring for the rich and leaving others out. Thats why Trump owns the Republicans.

You seem to be saying that if there would have been several Donalds before this Donald, would there be this Donald? Probably, yes, because there would already be some solutions in place. You should note that your complaints are about the failures of liberalism of the past, but your proposal is the continuation of liberalism and its failed programs, and to spend even more money on it.
