is the united nations still needed in today's world?

i understand the importance of it, but they have failed many times at saving countries.

    The U.N. is a forum for passing international laws. It has many agencies and programs of aid for people living in terrible conditions. The U.S. is the largest financial contributor so it has a dominant voice. We need the Security Council to keep U.S. in check. We need the General Assembly so the Palestinians have some acknowledgment of the world beside what Israel says.

    Yes. More than ever. Their job is not to save countries. It is to provide a forum for countries to meet to solve problems. The do a lot in helping victims of disaster, and they do a lot to help in peace keeping.

      look at the rwandan genocide. they did barely anything to help and they didn't even care.
