I'm a normal weight, but my doctor is saying I'm under..why?

I'm at this impatient ED clinic and my current weight is 57.8 kg and I'm 69 in (5'9) I'm trying to sign myself out, but my doctor here won't let me until I hit a BMI of 20. I looked at the charts, and it's saying I'm a normal weight now...what gives? Since when is a BMI of 19 underweight?

It is likely because the doctor wants you to have a higher BMI when you leave so that it doesn't drop lower as easily. If the doctor does let you leave, he wants you to be as healthy as possible and doesn't want you to end up back needing help as quickly. Having a BMI of 19 is also bordering on being unhealthily low so it would be better to increase it a bit more regardless of what the doctor requires.
