Why do you think that some people reject God's word while others accept it?
I know very religious people who don't believe the entire bible is relevant to Christians - they say a lot of it is written only for Jews but according to Jesus - the entire bible applied to Christians.

the vast majority of man-kind is unable to even admit that they are "sinners".... the first requirement of The Salvation process of coming to God in The Way He prescribes...... the majority simply can not accept that they need God... and a lot of them even deny there is a God.....
and... btw, fyi......Jesus NEVER ministered to any Christians during his Earthly ministry..... Jesus' commission from his Father was to minister to only those of The Nation of Israel.... so,of course, he told those that The Law still applied to them..... There were no Christians until after Jesus ascended into Heaven.... and his Father, The Creator God, commissioned The True Church.... from there it gets a bit more complicated.... and entire libraries full of text has been been written trying to resolve the conflicts between all those claiming the title of Christian.....concerning the "Old" and "New" Testaments.... nothing posted on YA is going to resolve it either....

Some people have enough education to appreciate that "God's Word" was actually created by fourth century Roman politicians, as they were posthumously elevating Jesus to retroactive Divinity and creating Catholicism. Calling the Bible "God's Word" is an insult to both human history and the factual truth.

Gifts of the Holy Spirit. Many atheists don't accept any of it at all. Not the history of a people, not the wisdom, not the law, not the prophesies, not any of it. They even go so far as to say that most people in the Bible, especially the main characters: Adam, Eve, Cain, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Lot, Peter, Paul, & Mary, (teh heh) and of course Jesus, never existed.
Christians accept the truth of God's Word, in whole or in part, depending on the gifts of the Holy Spirit. If a Christian says, "that's irrelevant" or "that never happened" or "I can't accept that" it is because their faith is not great enough to permit the Holy Spirit to provide the understanding.

There is a false teaching among Christianity that the Bible is not the word of God. It is called religious humanism.
The Bible speaks clearly about this. It says in the last days that people will have a form of godliness but deny its power. Simply put people will have a form of Christianity but deny the God who gives power to the message.

The only way these holy books make sense is if someone forced it down your throat as a 3 year old and threatened you with rejection, pain and suffering if you didn't accept it.

Satan offers favors to those that will follow him just as he did to Jesus. Selfishness is powerful
