Do christians believe the universe was created just for us humans? If so, why the vast size and number of objects?

    To be fair to Christians (not always my strength, given their often incredulous beliefs), their book of myths indicates that their god created all creatures, and in the fable regarding Noah's ark, all species were to be saved.

    So there is at least the suggestion that other creatures do have their place in the scheme of things.

    And if this deity did create the entire universe (????), there was obviously massive planning involved (giving Saturn 62 moons for example - and why 62?). Much of this would be beyond human comprehension.
