If I haven't fasted in 11 years would going a full day without food be too difficult for me?

When I skip even one or two meals I feel miserable but I thought if I skip 3 meals a day 1 time a week - maybe I can lose weight?

    I fast leangains style (16 hour fast/ 8 hour eating window). My mother is 71 and has never fasted before. I had her start off at 14 hours but it took a while for her to increase to 16 hours. Fasting eventually decreases hunger. I can fast longer than 16 hours without feeling hungry. Try this to start with: finish your last meal at 6.30 pm and eat again at 8.30 am.     Fasting is not a good way to lose weight. Fasting is a great way to allow your digestive system to 'clean out the pipes". To lose weight, you need to eat less (or better) and be more active.

    You won't know unless you try, but fasting a day a week won't make you lose weight. You need to pair a healthy diet and exercise.
