how come some people don't value education and choose to do drugs?

being raised by a single mother in a poverty stricken black neighborhood, I couldn't understand why some people chose to do drugs and drop out of high school.

All these people R dead Wrong.

People use drugs to self medicate. Not only physical pain but also to cover up a lot of psychological traumas.

Teens fall to peer pressure easily, especially those who have experienced trauma. You're bragging about being educated so you should know this. Maybe stop looking down on people.

Because we don't see it as worth it. It's like being forced to stand in front of a lottery scratcher machine and we either win and succeed in life or more likely we keep trying but keep losing and then it sets in.
