Did your doctor have you get a chest x-ray?
If not, make sure they do- and if they won't, find a new doctor PRONTO.
You should be worked up for a heart problem right away - as in NOW.
Sometimes people are born with birth defects in the heart that mean the heart has to work harder and the blood pressure becomes high. You should be referred to a cardiologist- a heart specialist- right away.
Talk to your parent(s) and have them call the doctor. At 16, you may be able to walk in and get medical care on your own, but the fact is, you need to make sure they are not just putting you on pills but really looking to find the cause. Until you are seen by a real cardiologist, DO NOT hold your breath for any reason, don't lift anything heavy, do anything to get yourself out of breath, not even if you poop. If something is wrong with a blood vessel that is enlarged and thin, it could burst and kill you.
Get this looked at- not by your regular doctor, but by a cardiologist- and fast. It really is a matter of life and death. No joke- I
m older, but I had something like this going on, and my doctor found it by accident. It could have killed me, but I had surgery. Scary, yup, but I lived and now I'm fine. Let the doctors look and see why this is happening, and DON'T experiment with anything anyone online tells you- GO SEE A REAL HEART DOCTOR, and do everything exactly as they say.
