Need some help on this physics momentum question?
At the centre of a circular ice rink, a 88.0 kg ice skater moving 1.95 m/s north hits and grabs onto a 51.0 kg ice skater who had been traveling west at 4.35 m/s. If the skaters hold onto each other and the rink has a 22.0 m diameter, what is the amount of time for the skaters to reach the edge of the rink?

88.0(1.95) + 51.0(0) = (88.0 + 51.0)vy
vy = 1.2345 m/s
88.0(0) + 51.0(4.35) = (88.0 + 51.0)vx
vx = 1.596 m/s
velocity after collision
v = √(1.596² + 1.2345²)
v = 2.0177...
v = 2.02 m/s
t = d/v
t = (22.0 / 2) / 2.02
t = 5.4515...
t = 5.45 s
