Yes, indeed it is the greatest threat, not because of its concurrent capability to destroy our material world, but instead due to its unfortunate side-effect of turning us into machines full of efficiency but devoid of empathy.

Therefore we should doubly guard against this threat while in pursuit of technological advancements, by ensuring that we value people orientation and togetherness much more than the ease and comfort in our material life provided by technology.

It is probably going to take us many more years to get on top of the technology we now have at our disposal. Much less survive it. If we do then we will have the next wave of science to transcend. And on and on it is going to go. Probably for as long as humans exist.

Not directly, no. Overpopulation and the potential for rampant diseases and famine are the greatest threats. At the rates that human, animal and plant diseases and viruses can mutate and get out of control in dense populations, the threat is greater than anything else. While technology offers it's own problems, it can also bail mankind out of trouble too.

Grammar lesson. Advancements is plural, to it should be phrased "ARE Is technological advancements the greatest threat to humanity?"

I hate to see the "est" ending - the greatEST? Of everything? Asteroid strikes, plague, losing the ozone and microwaving? But I'd say this - it is probably the greatest man-made threat.
