What strings should I use for an acoustic\electric guitar?

If you mean what in Europe is called an electro-acoustic guitar - an acoustic guitar with a built-in pickup that allows the acoustic sound to be amplified, you need the appropriate strings for the equivalent acoustic guitar. If it has nylon strings you need nylon strings, if it has steel strings you need acoustic steel strings.
For a steel string acoustic guitar I use phosphor bronze light gauge strings, but it's a matter of personal choice.

As Tony B said, it's entirely a matter of personal taste but any good set of acoustic steel strings will do just fine. Your best bet is to keep trying different brands and kinds until you find your favorite. For me it's Elixir Nanoweb light gauge strings.Source(s): Playing acoustic guitar for 56 years
