A student who has anorexia told me they have a hard time studying due to over exercise and hunger in the evenings? Could this be true?

Could someone who has early stages of anorexia have a hard time studying? Should I tell higher ups in the university or keep the details she told me between us? I told her she can talk to me about anything that will impact her ability to do well in the course.

Anorexia is a mental illness, it's nothing about getting attention or wanting to be thin. its a mental illness.

Could be true but it is entirely their problem. If they are not seeking help for it then you should not make concessions for it. Tell her if she can contact the school's health department and they will get her some help. If she declines then do not give her any slack because of it.
